Hello,
Come to Kenya with LCM and do God’s work.
Each year the Ministry is pleased to oversee short term mission teams from many locations and for many purposes. In 2011 alone, Life for Children will have hosted four mission trips: a well drilling team in July, a Bible Camp team in August, a Pastors’ teaching team in September, an evangelism/home construction team in November.
As the ministry and opportunities for short-term missions grow, planning early for future trips is becoming increasingly important. If you are considering partnering with LCM on a short-term mission trip, or are interested in joining a team, we want to hear from you! How, when and where is the Lord leading you to serve?
Some of the opportunities we have:
- Guardian Home Construction – Many of the guardians are unable to maintain their homes. Tin roofs will make a big difference in the longevity and upkeep of a home.
- Vacation Bible Camp – This is an expanded Vacation Bible School. The children and youth are brought together for several days, staying overnight. Routine medical examinations are performed on each of the children if possible.
- Medical Mission – medical services for guardians and community
- Pastors’ Conference – a 5 day training conference led by pastors for Kenyan pastors
- Evangelism, Bible study, etc. – Bible studies, revivals, training, etc.
- Clean Water – opportunity to oversee well drilling, installation, and maintenance
- Agriculture – obtaining and training on farm equipment, agricultural training, irrigation, plowing, sowing or harvesting the LCM plot
- Administrative – Computer assistance with database set up, assistance in the office, school or clinic when set up
- Construction – building a school, office for the ministry, clinics as funds become available
- Church Planting – helping to start new churches, set up facilities, etc.
A major focus of all the teams is building relationships with our Kenyan brothers and sisters. The teams visit homes, worship and serve alongside the guardians, LCM staff and ministry children.
Teams vary in make-up and size. Some teams, like the Bible Camp team, are eclectic, with members coming from different churches, towns and states. Some teams are homogenous – planned and implemented by a single church.
Because the children are out of school during the months of April, August and December, the Bible Camp is usually planned for early August. Trips focusing on the guardians and/or the community can be planned during other months.
If the Lord is leading you to one of these opportunities, or a different trip focus, please contact me. We would like to set trip purposes and dates for 2012 by the end of this year.
If you have any questions about our mission trips, please contact me at my email shown below.
In His Service,
Fances Osteen
